Prostate Cancer UK Grateful for WFLA’s Support

Jack Bacon from Prostate Cancer UK said: “We’re so grateful for the support of the WFLA who have raised a wonderful £870.18 and fantastic awareness too.

“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, and an early diagnosis can save your life, but more men still need to be aware of the risk of prostate cancer. Men are at higher risk if they are over 50, Black or, have a father or brother who has had prostate cancer. Anyone with concerns should visit the charity’s online risk checker.”

“The WFLA and our amazing fundraisers across the UK are a brilliant demonstration of people coming together against prostate cancer. From walking football, running, cycling, and baking, they’re all doing something great to fund more ground-breaking research and work towards a screening programme, to catch prostate cancer early and save lives.”

Derek Murr, the WFLA Treasurer said: “The WFLA Management Committee wishes to thank the teams that competed in this year’s Prostate Cancer UK WFLA League Champions Cup and everyone who donated to this very important cause. We look forward to working with Prostate Cancer UK again in 2026.”
