The WFLA Management Committee are pleased to announce the appointments of Marcus Brown and Danni Toward as the organisers of its Women’s Cup Competitions.
Marcus is the Football Manager at Bolton Arena Community Sports Village; he oversees a wide range of football programmes and initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive participation and community engagement.
Danni is the captain and co-founder of Bolton Arena Women. She has a long history of playing and has been involved in women’s football for over 30 years.
Derek Murr, the WFLA Treasurer says, “We wish to welcome Marcus and Danni on board. The WFLA witnessed a disappointing number of withdrawals in the women’s sections for a varied reasons during 2025 and we hope that with Marcus and Dannii’s appointment it will provide the necessary drive, focus and enthusiasm that the women’s walking football competitions justly deserves.”
Marcus adds, “Most may associate me with the formation of Bolton Arena WFC formation in 2015 or the diverse Lancashire Leagues programmes, but along with Danni and the WFLA, taking the opportunity to raise the women’s game profile nationally required just one response, Let’s Do It!”
Their responsibility will be to organise the WFLA Women’s tournaments, recruitment of teams and leagues, dealing with registrations, and organising regional rounds prior to the Grand Finals.
Further details on the women’s’ and other WFLA age-based cup competitions will be issued by the end of October 2025.
Please Note – No decision as yet has been made with regards to the central venue or dates for the WFLA Finals. An announcement is also expected to be made by the end of October 2025.
