WFLA To Introduce Initial £10.00 Entry Registration Fee

The WFLA Tournament Committee have decided that as from 2027 to introduce an initial £10.00 entry registration fee for both competitions. This decision was based upon the increasing numbers of “no-shows” for both the ‘Regionals’ and ‘Finals’ events, and the overall increase on its administration costs. Hopefully, member leagues, clubs and teams will see this as a positive step as a way to ensure leagues, clubs and teams commit to our future events.

The WFLA have two annual competitions, the WFLA League Champions Cup and the WFLA Inter League Cup:

  • The WFLA Inter League Cup is by invitation to leagues who are members of the WFLA. For more info on League Representative sides please go to  https://wfla.org.uk/league-represntative-sides/.
  • The WFLA League Champions Cup is by invitation to teams who are the preceding seasons Champions of the top division of leagues who are members of the WFLA as of 31st December. Please Note – If the Champions are unable, or unwilling to enter then the Runners Up will be invited to take part.

No decision as yet been made on the entry fee for the ‘WFLA’ ‘Finals’ at Coleshill Town FC for next year as we are unable to confirm at this moment in time, whether there we will be a sponsor for each competition, but a loss of sponsorship may mean an increase in fees for each event.

The WFLA is committed to maintaining its high standards and to remain as one of the UK’s best-known organisers of walking football leagues’ competitions. There are no annual affiliation or membership fees.

The age categories for each WFLA competition are:

  • Womens Mixed Age:    40 or over
  • Over 50s (Mixed):         50 or over
  • Over 60s (Mixed):         60 or over
  • Over 65s (Mixed):         65 or over
  • Over 70s (Mixed):         70 or over
  • Over 75s (Mixed):         75 or over

If your league or club or team are eligible, an entry registration fee can be purchased via the WFLA Shop at https://wfla.org.uk/shop/. Please Note – Entries for both competitions will close on the 31st of January 2027.
