OUR HISTORY (2019 to 2025)

2025

The WFLA started 2025 with 30 members.

In October 2024 the WFLA decided there would be no WFLA National Cup for 2025 and that the ‘Finals’ for the Breast Cancer UK WFLA Inter League and Prostate Cancer WFLA Champions League Cup Competitions would be played at Coleshill Town FC’s Pack Meadow Pack Meadow, Packington Lane, Coleshill, Warwicks B46 3JE. Entry to both competitions closed on the 31st January 2025, with numbers exceeding 2024. The Breast Cancer UK WFLA Inter League Cup entries increased by 34% and the Prostate Cancer UK WFLA League Champions Cup entries increased by 41%.

In June 2025, the Breast Cancer UK WFLA Inter League Cup was held at Coleshill Town FC as planned. Details of the Winners. Runners-Up and Third placed teams can be found on the ‘Competitions’ page here.

In July 2025 it was decided that there will only be one Women’s Cup competition across the Inter League and League Champions Cups. The Women’s Over 40’s and Women’s Over 50’s were merged into a ‘Women’s Mixed Age’ competition. See here.

Also in July 2025, after completion of the Prostate Cancer UK League Champions Cup, the WFLA Management Committee decided to recruit a Women’s Tournament Organiser. See here.

In October 2025 the WFLA were able to recruit Marcus Brown and Danni Toward as the WFLA Women’s tournaments. See news item here.

Also in October 2025, the WFLA retained Prostate Cancer UK as the sponsor for the WFLA League Champions Cup for 2026. See news item here.
