The WFLA Management Committee are pleased to announce that sufficient votes have been received and therefore it will no longer require its members to be affiliated to a County or National FA. Therefore the WFLA Constitution will be amended, and this change will come into effect from the 1st of April 2026. These changes will be ratified at the next WFLA AGM.
This change will now allow other leagues not wishing to be FA-affiliated to join as a member of the WFLA and to compete in its events/competitions. Therefore, applications for WFLA membership is now open to all walking football leagues, and a walking football league can become a WFLA member if they satisfy the prevalent membership qualifications see here.
The WFLA will continue its efforts to work with the FA, as and when asked, and other walking football organisations to help us all in setting up a Standard Code of Rules across all walking football competitions.
