Wales Walking Football Federation (‘WWFF’) Re-joins WFLA and Becomes 33rd Member!

The Walking Football Leagues’ Alliance’s Management team are pleased to announce, and welcomes back the Wales Walking Football Federation (‘WWFF’) as its 33rd member. Wales Walking Football Federation (WWFF) were founder members of WFLA. With the recent constitutional change by the WFLA, which now allows other leagues not wishing to be FA-affiliated to join as a member of the WFLA; and to compete in its events/competitions; this rule change has enabled the WWFF to re-join the WFLA. See News item here.

Hedley Austin, Chairman of the WWFF says, “When that category of membership was abolished, we had to resign from WFLA when its rules required its member clubs to be FA affiliated. We are working towards greater integration with FA of Wales but have not arrived there yet. Our member clubs and players enjoyed taking part in WFLA tournaments and have been asking for a return to WFLA: now the eligibility rules have been relaxed, it is an opportune time to re-join.

Please Note – Should any walking football league wishing to join the WFLA, they will need to complete an online application at https://wfla.org.uk/about-us-2/how-to-join-the-wfla/
