Walking Football Leagues’ Alliance (‘WFLA’) Looking for Auditor

The WFLA are looking to find an independent person to take on the role of the WFLA Auditor for at least a one-year term for 2025 and possibly beyond. The role is voluntary and unpaid. This role is independent from the day-to-day workings of the WFLA, and will not hold a position on the WFLA’s Management Committee.

The Auditors overall role will be to:

  • Provide assurance that financial statements produced by the Treasurer as of a 30th of September financial year end reflect the WFLA’s operational and financial results, and the WFLA comply with basic accountancy standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide assurance that financial statements are free from misleading statements and fraud.
  • Review and verify the financial statements prepared by the Treasurer for the year/period, which comprise the Income and Expenditure and Financial Statements. These Financial Statements are prepared by the Treasurer in a simple manner to ensure a basic understanding of all events and outcomes. These include Income and Expenditure accounts for all WFLA competitions.
  • Provide an opinion the financial statements in so much that they give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities, and financial position of the WFLA at the financial year end.
