The WFLA are pleased to announce that we have formed a partnership with Breast Cancer UK. We will be working with Breast Cancer UK, in sharing their values and ambitions in the important role in helping raise funds and awareness of their vital work in breast cancer prevention.
Derek Murr, WFLA’s Treasurer said, “Everyone has some risk of getting breast cancer, but there are easy everyday ways to help reduce risk and be healthier all-round. The WFLA will be working with Breast Cancer UK to share common values and ambitions about cancer prevention through their focus on education, scientific research, collaboration, and policy change. As a national organiser of walking football competitions, the WFLA will help to reinforce Breast Cancer UK’s messages around healthy lifestyles such as promoting physical activity, eating well, and minimising environmental risk factors., raising awareness to highlight the vital research to save men’s and women’s lives by reducing their risk of developing breast cancer.”
As part of this new and exciting partnership, Breast Cancer UK will be sponsoring the 2025 WFLA Inter League Cup ‘Finals’ trophies. The Inter League ‘Finals’ are being played at Coleshill Town FC’s Pack Meadow Pack Meadow, Packington Lane, Coleshill on Sunday 15th of June 2025.
The booking form form for this event is here. This competition is open to all WFLA member leagues by invitation to a team who represent a WFLA affiliated league across an age-category. Each League has a maximum of six teams, one for each age category.
