WFLA To Donate 75% of League Champions Cup Fees To Prostate Cancer UK

The Walking Football Leagues’ Alliance (‘WFLA’) is continuing to raise awareness about prostate cancer and its efforts to raise funds for this most important charity. As part of its ongoing commitment they will be donating 75% of its 2026 League Champions Cup competition fees to Prostate Cancer UK.

Derek Murr, WFLA’s Treasurer said, Specifically. we want to share this message with all those teams and leagues that are competing in our 2026 League Champions Cup competition. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. It affects 1 in 8 of us, that’s dads, brothers, partners, best mates and a lot of men who play walking football. Walking football is a fantastic way to keep fit, enjoy a passion for football but it’s also a great audience to talk about men’s health and prostate cancer risk. Prostate Cancer UK has a strong pedigree in football and we hope the WFLA is able to help them to continue this legacy in walking football; as well as raising funds. We look forward to working together with Prostate Cancer UK in 2027 and beyond.”

If you are interested in sharing a prostate cancer experience with them or would like both awareness and fundraising materials for your club they would be really keen to hear from you. Learning about people’s different experiences of the disease helps them continue to build the broadest understanding and sensitively share important messages to a wider audience in effective ways.
